| Most of us have either attended or participated in a trade show or event of some sort or another. Yet many of us overlook the correlation between attending an event and a tangible outcome such as; new customer acquisition or possibly media coverage of a new product release. Just standing there looking pretty really isn't what its all about. Here are some essential tips to consider; Set appointments ahead of time. You will meet people by chance at the booth but better to have firm meetings in the bag Have an easy lead capture system. Whether visitors drop a business card in the fishbowl or scan their electronic badge, get a list of who stopped by and then follow up with them after the show If your product or service allows for it, submit it for Best of the Show competition. At a minimum you will get an additional mention in the program and you never know, you just might win Look for speaking opportunities.
